Om denne aktiviteten
The Tretyakov gallery is a unique museum where the best samples of Russian art are exhibited. It was founded by brothers Pavel and Sergei Tretyakov who used their family fortune to make a collection of fine art works. One of the brothers Pavel opened his house to the public in 1856 and later built a new gallery for his collection of paintings. In 1892, both brothers bequeathed their collections to the city. After a nine-year renovation the Tretyakov gallery was reopened in 1995. Now it houses the world’s best collection of Russian icons, as well as a fantastic collection of other pre-Revolutionary Russian art.

After the tour you will be offered a private concert in the beautiful Church of St. Nicholas the Miracle Worker in Tolmachi, situated close to the gallery. The Church contains a collection of icons from the gallery’s reserve. This church has wonderful acoustics as well as other cathedrals. The church is closed for the general public. For guests convenience chairs are placed in the hall.
